The Super-Fantastic Contest Game of Challenge

Okay, I thought I'd give a little update on how this is going to work. The idea of this game is to encourage everyone to participate on the blog more. I figured if people thought they might have the chance to get something out of it, maybe they'd put forth more of an effort. So with that goal in mind, I've come up with a couple guidelines.

1. Instead of having one chance a month at some prize, I'm going to try a point system. At various places on the blog (and they can appear anywhere, so be on the look out), there will be a simple assignment. Each assignment will be worth a certain number of points. At the end of the month, the person with the most points wins. I figure this works better because it gives me the chance to offer more assignments without having to give a prize for each one.
2. There is an automatic assignment every month that is worth 10 points. That assignment is simple: just make a post. Not a comment, a post. Post anything - an idea for our youth group, a funny story...whatever - you know, we've been over this. Okay, you're not going to get 10 points for every post you make, just the one. But just think how alive things would be if every member was making at least one post every month. Now, some of you might be thinking "That's not fair. If someone doesn't have anything to say, they don't have anything to say." But you see, that's the whole point - to make you think of something to say. Get it?

Anyway, I guess that's about it. Why don't we go ahead and start things off with a good 10 point assignment: Somebody post a funny story about our youth group. Can't wait for it!
