Uh Oh, Jd's Here

I've been gone for 8 months, but I'm back. So get ready. Ok now, I'm expecting about 100-200 comments welcoming me back, so if you get started now you could get about 50 done b-4 midnite

my poem

ah,love let us be true to one another!for the world, which seems to lie before us like a land of dreams,so various , so beautiful, so new, hath really neither joy,nor love, nor light, nor certitde, nor peace, nor help for pain: and we are here as on a darkling plain swept with confused alarms for struggle and flight, where ignorent armies clash by light.

Tonight

Hey everybody reading this post, feel free to join us tonight in the youth house at our regular time. We're not officially meeting, but some of us will be getting together to hang out for a while. We might watch a movie or play some games - whatever we feel like doing so long as we don't get too out of control. Hope to see everyone there!

Why I Wasn't at Church Today...

Coming to church is a biblical command, not an option. We have to meet together every week unless absolutely impossible - even on Sundays, when every thing might feel a little less personal. Yeah guys - this is serious!

So what about this doesn't work for you? Yeah, I know. Sundays can be boring and feel too formal. But why? Who's fault is it? And what can we do about it? I want to hear your thoughts. Let's talk about this honestly so that we can work through it and figure out what's wrong.

The Nativity Story

Join us tomorrow to see The Nativity Story.

I hope everyone understands why we're seeing this movie. We're not going to the movies tomorrow for the sake of seeing a movie, we're going to see this movie - a movie about how our savior entered our world.

It would be sad if we see this movie and find it boring - just some movie about a pregnant girl. The meaning of this story alone should make it one of the most exciting movies we could go see. Watching how God moved through all the elements to give us his son should be awesome to us.

But there's even more to it than that. I liked this movie because it fleshes out the story and characters, making them real people and reminding us that this all really happened. There are many things we take from it - more than you might expect. For example, pay attention to Mary. What kind of woman is she? What makes her special such that God would choose her to carry the Messiah? What kind of man is Joseph? How does he handle the responsibilities he is given?

These are important things to pay attention to because they help us learn what kind of people God uses. He chose an ordinary teenage girl, pledged to marry an ordinary carpenter. Why? Because they were righteous. I think that's awesome.

There's so much I could say about the Christmas story, but I need to finish up this post. Just wanted to say a few words before we see the movie tomorrow - try to get everyone in the right mindset.

I dont know...

ok I just thought that I would leave a little message here so I did. No further questions you honor.

Away in a Manger

This song was thought to have beed written by Martin Luther for his children & was named "Luther's Cradle Hymn". The song was passed on by German mothers. But research discounts this claim, however. Stanzas one & two first appeared in the Little Children's Book, published in 1885. The third verse was written by a Methodist mimister, John T. McFarland, in the early 1900's.

Away in a Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, the little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head; the stars in the sky looked down where He lay, the little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay.

The cattle are lowing, the Baby awaks, but little Lord Jesus, no crying He makes; I love thee, Lord Jesus! look down from the sky, and stay by my cradle till morning is nigh.

Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay close by me forever, and love me, I pray; bless all the dear children in Thy tender care, and fit us for heaven, to live with Thee there.

Hope you enjoy this song as much as I do.

New Blog

Okay, so I've officially switched us over to the new version of Blogger. I hope this doesn't complicate things too much. This new version is supposed to be better - easier to use (so they say). And anyway, I had to do it. Apparently Blogger is requiring it.

So just swith your account. As far as I can tell, it's as easy as clicking the link that all of you should see on your dashboard when you sign in. If you don't see this link, or if you're having problems, please let me know.

To make all of this go as smoothly as possible, please post and read comments to keep up with all latest developments.
