Hey, great slave auction last night. Looking forward to Pineywoods. I've been there, by the way. When I was in 7th grade, we went there. Pretty cool place. The main thing I remember about it is the ropes course. Those of you who like a little adventure and physical challenge won't wanna miss out on that.
Hope a lot of you turn out Thursday to watch The Passion of the Christ. Even if you've seen it a hundred times, come join us. If you haven't seen it, then we defiantly want you to be there. This is an awesome movie.
And finally, of course, I'm more than looking forward to some canoe action this weekend! Sign up if you haven't already. Should be a lot of fun.
By the way, those of you who really like that sorta thing, let's talk. I'm seriously considering putting something together - something a little more challenging than the Caddo - for those of us who really want to. I've been looking around on the Internet for some rivers in Arkansas that are still pretty good this time of year. All the good ones are up north, of course, so if we were to do something, it might be a little expensive just to make the trip. But if you're interested, let me know. This wouldn't be an official youth trip - just something for us to do on our own as friends.

The slave auction was weird. lol.
I pretty much only felt nervous while everyone was waiting in that back room and wondering when my name was going to get called out. Otherwise it was pretty cool!
I wish I could record memories from my mind or something, that would be cool. 'Cause it was pretty funny when I went out there. I don't remember everyone who bid on me, but I know that near the end it was David's Dad, Shaun's parents and Gary all biding till it started getting expensive. lol :p
I'm glad that Gary was the one who I got "Sold" to ($85 baby!). I don't know many of the older people in the Church, so it's less scary this way... Or, so I hope. =P
Humm, what's the Pineywoods trip? Is that the camping trip for next month? I can't remember.. I may go, I just have to wait to see what I've got going on that week.
Well, I for one have never seen "Passion of the Christ". Greg, my Father and I went to Texarkana when it first came out, but their tickets were sold out for three days worth of time showings. So we never got to see it. I would love to see it, but this week's schedule is a bit hectic. I can only hope that I'll get to see it. If I get to watch it I'll probably cry... Like, a lot. Gary's probably used to me crying by now (lol), but for anyone else: I apologize in advance for any tissue dabbing action!! ;)
Ahh, yes, and the canoing... O_O;
I don't know, but I think that the picture I drew Sunday morning is pretty accurate of how it'll be if I get in that boat. :p (I still have no idea why Gary asked to keep that picture. lol!)
I'll be there (Unless I get sick *Cough* or something randomly terrible like that).
As for the actual getting in the boat thing... Ehh... We'll see. I don't want to be in the boat by myself, but then again I don't think I really want to get stuck in a boat with some of the guys in the youth group.. O_o No offense meant or anything by that, of course.
I can just imagine the outcomes.. If I go with Gary, Javonna would probably be freaking out for the whole time we're gone and accuse him of potentially drowning me. Jason might flip over just so I'd stop talking about how scared I might be. JD would sink the boat, and Ryan would probably swim all the way to Canada to find a waterfall to fall off of. XD
So... Yeah, we'll see how it goes. =) lol
Pineywoods is the church camp we're going to this summer. That's what the slave auction was for - if you go.
Ahhh, so Pineywoodness is summer camp! w00t! :D Wow... Summer is coming so quickly. Seems like it was only weeks ago that we were doing the Christmas play! Days are going by so fast it seems.
Hehe, I'm as ecstatic about the line-up of trips as you are Ryan! (Okay, so no one can beat your energy, but anyhoo!) ^_^ I am indeed looking forward to the many things we are doing as a youth group.. Especially since Gary has taken charge once again. I know that we'll be getting a new youth leader soon, but I really can't deny the fact that things have really changed for the better since Gary "came back" as the leader for a while.
Even just the small things that bring us together, like randomly going out to eat or watch a movie. It's amazing how simply being with each other on a more consistent basis has brought us together as a youth group. Before we seemed scattered, only around each other on Sundays or Wednesdays. But even then we didn't feel like we were "together".
Now, it somehow feels different..
Have you guys noticed the difference, or is it just me?
There's room for more improvement, of course, but I think we might be starting off in the right direction. ^_^
Well, I don't know much about how things were before I joined, but I've seen a lot change in the past several months. It's been really cool getting to know all of you. There's a really great youth group somewhere in us, we just have to make it a conscious priority to bring it out.
