Thoughts About Our Blog Title
Not a big deal, just wondering: Do you guys think we should change the title of our blog to say "The Calvary Baptist Church Youth Group Blog" and the text underneath to say something about what it's for? I like the verse from Ecclesiastes, but I was thinking it might be better to make it clear what this thing is all about. Gimme some input. If we want to do it that way, we can find another place to put the verse if you guys like that.

Humm... Well, personally I don't mind it either way.
I agree with Greg though, it is rather long at the moment. I also like the verse..
I'm okay with just about anything, really. :)
Well, the reason I thought of it is that I think that the purpose of this blog needs to be clearly identified somewhere (not just in my first post). I figured the heading would be the best place. It comes up and you instantly realize, "Oh, this is a blog for the youth group of Calvary Baptist Church in Hope, Arkansas. They use this to communicate ideas."
The reason I thought about putting "blog" at the end is simply cause this is our blog. I thought it might make more sense that way, but it probably would be too long, and I'd have to adjust the font size to make it fit neatly on one line.
Anyway, I'll try it out and see how it looks. If we don't like it, I'll just change it back.
Hmm...well, I gave it a try. The "blog" part did look cluttered and I didn't know what to think of the description. I was thinking about adding it to the "Who We Are" part, but that's really directed at visitors. What I'm wanting is to have some kind of description that clearly states the purpose of the blog to us, you know? Somthing like, "A place for members of the Calvary Baptist Church youth group of Hope, Arkansas to communicate."
Okay, I tried something else. Whatcha think? See how it sorta instantly clarifies the purpose of the blog to both visitors and to us? I don't know. Maybe not. We can reword if we want to. Just thought I'd see how it works.
Oohh, the one that's up right now is pretty cool. It looks good and explains what it's for very well.
Me likes. =]
Yeah, I think I like it too. I changed it a little - nothing big, just the part about "members of the Calvary Baptist Church youth group". I just thought it was more personal to say "our members". Since we have the "Who We Are" section, it's not really nessecary to explain who we are in the heading.
Speaking of the "Who We Are" section, I never meant to keep it like it is. I was hoping we'd come up with a more thorough description - not a long one 'cause we don't want to take up too much room on the sidebar, but a little more elaboration might be good. Maybe we can use the Ecclesiastes verse there. Something like, "We are a diverse group of Christian friends who ____________ and continually remember our Creator in the days of our youth." Just an idea. I put the blank there for something else we might wanna say about ourselves.
Gimme some input.
I do agree that something more in the "Who We Are" would be good. I've been thinking about what to add since you posted this, but I really can't come up with much...
What you've got sounds really official, which I like a lot. But our youth group is a tad bit wacky (In a good way, of course), I'm just not sure if it reflects us 100%.
Don't get me wrong though, I like what you've got so far. :)
*Reads her post* Humm... Okay, well I didn't really help anything at all with writing all of that. I'm just giving my 2 cents I guess. ;)
I'm really impressed with how much work that you're putting into the blog for us, Jason. That's really cool. ^_^
(Hopefully we won't end up scaring you away once everyone gets on here *gulp* O_O)
True. We need not forget our wackiness. Maybe we could use the blank for that. "We are a diverse group of Christian friends who [place crazy things we do here] while remembering our Creator in the days of our youth." Maybe it's the wording that makes it sound too official, though. I don't know. Personally, I like the diverse part 'cause I believe that's one of the great things about our youth group. Only the great youth groups can make that claim proudly. And we do have a great youth group - even if we're not exactly where God wants us right now.
